http://yankeegoldprospecting.com/ Finding placer gold locations using google earth is fun & effective. In this video I show you the basic things to research. Steep gorges to flat meandering streams. How to pin point the locations & make notes. Then when you are ready for a trip you can write down the GPS. coordinates of the location. Program them into a hand held gps or a vehicle gps, to get you near the chosen area. This technique will work anywhere there is placer gold. Best if you know where gold was originally found. Streams or Rivers that gold has been found, in the past. I ALWAYS FORGET TO MENTION IN MY VIDEOS, THAT I AM A GOLD PROSPECTING GUIDE AS WELL. Geri P*****s, my wonderful land-lady who's cabin I am staying in in Atlanta, Idaho, has a hard rock gold mine about 30 miles across the mountains from Atlanta that has been in her family for a long time. Her dad actually worked it back when she was younger. This is a patented gold mine where the closest town is Featherville, Idaho. We were helping her, as well as much of her family, with the assessment work for 2016. The work needs to be documented and turned into the BLM by Sept.
How to find opals Finding Gold 8: http://youtu.be/w7bI4uUacRg Gold & Gem locations: http://www.treasuresites.com/treasurebooks.htm Finished examples: http://www.ebay.com/usr/4-matt1 Opals occur most commonly around basalt deposits, though they can be a mineralized gel replacement for wood (petrified wood is one process, opal is another). To look for opal: go to the basalt (lava) areas (use a USGS mineral map), then look for depressions (old springs) or flat areas on hillsides where you see the ground pictured in the film. Opals have a specific gravity lighter than sand so pieces (float opal) will come to the surface. Start looking for pieces (the tops will be sun-baked white). If you are finding obsidian (volcanic glass) walk up to a lower temp. mineralization and look for opal. Opal ...
Checking out my new claim in the town of Hope. This claim has both the Fraser river and the Coquihalla River running trough it. Nice wide open gravel bars with fine gold throughout. The claim boarders the local recreational panning reserve but still has ample land for prospecting and good area for running a high banker.
Following the route in parts 1 to 9, we now get the Horizons upgrade to unlock and work with the Engineers to get a better ship. This vid includes a bit on how to land on planets and use the SRV to find and collect materials for the engineers. The main focus is on Felicity Farseer. The sheet that I mentioned, which shows what you need to unlock the engineers is in this link: https://forums.frontier.co.uk/showthread.php/273552-Engineers-visual-printable-guide
Lake Creek Colorado gold prospecting May 25, 2014. My first trip to Colorado to prospect. We were on private land that is a pay-to-dig type area. I was using my small stream sluice with Gold Hog matting for the coarser material and using my homemade power header on my other small sluice on the sluice stand to run the finer material less than 20 mesh. I was trying to separate the magnetite from both the classifier and from the fine material sluice to help with reducing the unnecessary heavies from getting in the way. You can also see the downspout sluices I made for the kids to use. They worked and got gold too.
